Local Criminal to be brought to justice

A local criminal will soon be brought to justice. His Name? Bob Mackey. His crime? Incredibly terrible golf. He is scheduled to be arrested on Tuesday, April 24 in Jasper. His bail will be set by Judge Jeff Downing and he won’t be released until the bail is paid. His bail will be donated to the Pickens FERST Foundation for Childhood Literacy. Rumour has it, however, that Mackey is getting cold feet. Will he face the music or attempt to flee to avoid the consequences of his crime? More next week in this Smoke Signals Weekly exclusive that tracks the tale of Bob’s Journey to Justice.

The tale began when Mackey volunteered to be a Pickens Ferst Foundation’s detainee for its annual Jail ‘n Bail event. Pickens FERST prepares pre-school children for reading and learning success in school by promoting early reading and parent/family involvement.
