Head Veterans Memorial to be dedicated August 1

The Pickens County Veterans Memorial Park (PCVMP) group will dedicate the memorial at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1. The memorial honors all those veterans who fought to protect and serve our nation in the past, those who are serving and those who will serve in the future. Dedication activities include a formal military ceremony including the presentation of colors, singing of the national anthem, an Air Force flyover and a 21-gun salute. The Pickens Veterans Memorial Park is located at 599 Stegall Dr, Jasper , GA 30143.

The Bricks of honor program is offered to all past, current and future veterans who will be honored at the Pickens County Veterans Memorial Park. The bricks will be placed aside the walkway to remember those who served. Bricks may be donated in the name of a loved one or directly to a Veteran. The Memorial will be located at Lee Newton Park in Jasper. For a tax-deductible donation of $125 a 4x8 brick honoring a Veteran will be placed at the monument. The Bricks of Honor include 3 lines of engraving with up to 18 characters per line. All engraving will be with capital letters.
