Let the Music Begin

“Sometimes all you have is faith, and faith will be enough”

On Wednesday, May 30, the Rotary Club of Jasper held its dedication ceremony for the first phase of the organization’s Children’s Music Park.

Rotary President Regina Martin, County Commission Chair Robert Jones and Past President and Project Chair Kay Lawrence told over 100 assembled guests and Rotarians how the idea began. We didn’t have a plan, funding or any idea how we would do it.

We did have faith in our club, our members and our community. That faith and our commitment has resulted in eight musical instruments that have been installed with more to follow.

Children of all ages as well as adults attending activities at Roper Park are now discovering the joy of making music using these remarkable outdoor instruments.

The second phase will include further improvements such as sidewalks to make the park handicap accessible, shade canopies and landscaping. The final phase will showcase a beautiful pavilion.

We extend our very special thanks to our sponsors and contributors. Our dream to have a unique park for children is only a reality thanks to your generosity.

We invite the community to help us complete this wonderful park. Please make checks payable to: The Rotary Club of Jasper. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 39, Jasper, GA 30143.
