Candidates submitting documents for 2020 POA board revote
Prospective candidates for 2020 election to the Big Canoe POA board have until Friday, Jan. 17 to submit their POA document packages. According to POA Election Chair Bob Mackey, candidates Candace Robertson, Fran Farias, Bill Nelson, who ran in the previous invalidated election, have submitted their documents as of Monday night, Jan.6.
Bob Crouch, a longtime Big Canoe resident and former POA board president, has also submitted documents to run, said Mackey. Crouch served on the Leadership Big Canoe board from 2005-2007, the POA board from 2005 to 2010 and as president of the POA board for three years. He served on the Internet Task Force from 2015-2018.
Two potential candidates, Regis Falinski and Mark Rooney, have picked up candidate document packages, said Mackey, adding candidates have until Friday, Jan. 17 to submit their packages.
Ballots will be mailed to property owners on February 10 and completed ballots must be received by the POA’s accounting firm Mauldin and Jenkins by February 26. The results will be announced at a community event at The Clubhouse on Lake Sconti on February 29. Property owners must be current on their POA accounts as of January 31 to be eligible to vote.
