2019 DirectoryCover

Picture your photo on the cover of the 2020 POA Directory!

Smoke Signals is sponsoring a photo contest for the POA  Directory, which will be  available in January 2020. We are looking for great shots of life in Big Canoe to use in the directory — with the first-place photo appearing on the front page cover.

The Big Canoe community provides endless opportunities for spectacular photos. These shots can be of any amazing place inside Big Canoe of nature, wildlife or of people, including children, enjoying the Big Canoe lifestyle.  Just remember, photos of children less than 18 years of age must have the permission of the parents/guardians to be published in the POA Directory or Smoke Signals. Send Smoke Signals your favorite photograph. Selected photos will be featured in the 2020 POA Directory and future issues of Smoke Signals. Since the Directory cover will be large (8.5 x 11”) it is important to note that photos submitted need to be hi-resolution (300 dpi, minimum 8” wide). Pictures should have a vertical orientation (see last year’s cover above) to conform to the dimensions of the front cover.

Please Include: Name, Address, Email, Phone. Also provide a brief description of the photo. Email photo and information to:

or put hard copies in the Smoke Signals postal facility box.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Extended until Tuesday October 15, 2019. Each gift certificate will be for a local restaurant or retail outlet of the winner’s choosing from one of the advertisers in either Smoke Signals or the Big Canoe Community Directory. All photos submitted to the contest carry with them the following express permission:  They become the property of Smoke Signals which retains the right to reproduce them, at its discretion, in any future Smoke Signals publication including the phone directory and/or editions of Smoke Signals including special supplements.
