Help fight for a world without cancer by supporting Sept. 14 Relay for Life dinner, auction event

The popular annual Relay for Life fundraising event will take place from 5 until 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Big Canoe’s Clubhouse at Lake Sconti. The theme for this year’s event will be “Fighting for a World Without Cancer,” said event organizer Steve Melching.

Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society and its quest to save lives from cancer, helping fund breakthrough research, providing free rides to treatment, a 24/7/365 live helpline, and much more.

“We will have fabulous food stations, desserts, wine, and a terrific music line up featuring Bill Pound, plus Brad Morgan of Suburban Road, Bob Knysz of 8th of January and Art Shand of Pioneer Chicken Band--all local favorites. Don’t miss great auction items donated by photographer Mark Green, Jeff Downing of Foothills IGA, Mike Ziegenbalg of Cruise Vacations, Atlanta Braves tickets and more,” Melching said.

Tickets are $75 per person and sponsorships are available at the $500, $1,000 and $2,000 levels. Deadline for ticket purchases is Sept. 9.
