Terraces 2019 Concert Series off to strong start

The Terraces will welcome the Atlanta Dance Party Band to its stage June 15. This 10-piece band features four great lead singers, three horns, backup singers and an all-star rhythm section. They bring horn-filled, rich vocals with dance music of the 60s and 70s, as well as other favorite dance tunes. The musicians will perform from 7 until 10 p.m. Tickets are $20.00.

The band includes Stewart Brown, bringing the majority of the male vocals with his full-throated tenor voice. Melanie Dobbins, a prolific musical force from Atlanta, is successful in multi musical genres. Kelly Letlow is a long-time performer and vocal educator. Brandon Degroff will perform on trumpet and vocals; Tom LaDow shows versatility in classically trained piano, keyboard and backup vocals. Mark Konzal is on guitar and backup vocals. Allen Gant, drums and percussion, was previously a touring artist with Arrested Development. Darrell Jefferson is a highly regarded trombonist for all music styles. Jason Matthias, the newest member of the band, brings impeccable sax/flute accompaniments and powerful solos. John Hancott, a highly sought-after bassist, loves jazz and classic rock.

Next, a magical concert event to highlight the nation’s July 4th festivities? The Terraces will host GlowBand (formerly GLOW) on stage at The Terraces on July 6 at 7 p.m. GlowBand will bring its feature show: “Experience the Eagles – Songs that Live Forever,” highlighting their songs from the late 60’s through to the 90’s.

Musical Director Robert Taylor—responsible for the band’s arrangements, instrumentation and choral direction—also plays the violin, guitar and lends his voice to the vocals. He has performed with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker and many others. Tim Tice is a lead vocalist and an original member of the band; he’s a tenor soloist with a phenomenal range. Jewel Lucien, another lead vocalist, started singing at age five. She has appeared in musicals and plays such as “Sweeney Todd,” “Dreamgirls,” “Chicago” and “Annie.” Lisa Manuli, another lead vocalist, is a highly accomplished singer, actor and voice over artist. Dave Shaver, keyboards, guitar and backup vocalist, has toured internationally and has opened for Boston, Styx, Hall and Oates among others. Mike Shealy, drums as the band’s newest member has already toured all over the globe. Michael Ahmann, the other drummer, has recorded and toured with many of the biggest names of southeastern musicians. Curbe Dreher, guitar, bass, keys and drums, is the Band’s youngest member. He holds a music degree from Georgia State University, while also studying jazz guitar. Catch his phenomenal guitar work during their rendition of “Hotel California.”
