There’s always something new going on at BCAR’s Maggie’s House. New residents arrive, “furever” homes are found and new generations appear.

BCAR’s first kittens of the season are ready for adoption. Mother Sienna and her kittens Sheba, Jinx, Panda and Isabelle are pictured (above). The kittens are seven weeks old and ready for adoptive homes. Please stop by BCAR Maggie’s House during Saturday’s Open House from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and meet this adorable family.

New resident Mango easy-going, affectionate

Mango is new to BCAR Maggie’s House but has made herself right at home! She is a dilute calico (muted gray) and thought to be middle aged. She is confident, affectionate, and very healthy.

Mango was found on Red Trillium Ridge in Big Canoe in early April. She was desperately looking for her family. Some kind people fostered her a few days until BCAR could post to find her owners. She was also tested for feline diseases by a veterinarian. She passed the veterinary tests with flying colors and was able to enter our shelter in mid-April.

Mango is the perfect cat for someone looking for a calm and loving companion. She is a seven-year-old adult and is not a kitty with high energy! She won’t be racing down your hallways or getting into everything. She will be content to sit beside you affectionately in the evening being brushed or just sleeping on your lap. Please stop by Maggie’s House during open house, Saturday at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and meet Mango.

BCAR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit no-kill shelter for homeless dogs and cats found in the Big Canoe Community, providing them with a safe, healthy and positive environment until they are adopted into their forever loving homes. • Call BCAR 706-268-1346 • Check out the BCAR adoption postings in the BCAR Postal Facility display • Go to www.bigcanoeanimalrescue.org. • Check us out on Facebook • Come to open house held every Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. • Volunteer!
