Happy 25th, Wildflower Bunch: "Celebrating Silver, Growing Toward Gold"

Wildflower Bunch members are anticipating the June meeting--the 25th anniversary celebration of the Wildflower Bunch—on Wednesday, June 6, from 4-6 p.m. at the Big Canoe Clubhouse. Master gardener and Coach Vince Dooley and his wife Barbara will head the program. A cocktail reception will follow.

The anniversary celebration is a members-only event. Since membership is open year round, anyone who joins by May 15 is eligible to attend. The deadline to RSVP is May 18. Cost is $10/person in advance. Requests for information should be made to co-president Fran Holman McKenzie at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Membership forms are available at wildflowerbunch.com/membership.html. or contact Vice President of membership Cheryl Mitchell-Jones at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Even without the celebration, new members will have an opportunity to attend all the meetings, coffees in the garden, a new members’ event, field trips and the end of the year events.

The May Wildflower Bunch meeting was a winner with Eleanor Craig, the Fern Lady of Fernridge Farms, sharing her expertise and her ferns to a full house at the Wildcat Pavilion. She was ably assisted by Big Canoe gardeners Bonnie Plykaytis, a specialist in ferns of all sorts and Cynthia Hendry, a specialist of plants of all sorts. Following the meeting, a fern sale and Cinco de Mayo feast delighted everyone.
