The Clubhouse at Lake Sconti is open and busy after a three-week-long closure for refurbishing. The carpeting is gone, replaced by gleaming oak flooring. The walls, upstairs and down, have been freshly painted. Furniture was cleaned and polished.

Diners were thumbs up on opening day. The new luncheon menu changes weekly, featuring selections that are well-prepared and nicely priced.

Until the Clubhouse closes, Big Canoe residents don’t realize how much their lives revolve around it and the activities that take place there. From early morning meetings of the Squires and Stags to evening celebrations of the Bear Society, the Clubhouse stays busy. The Ridgerunners, North Georgia Vets, and Wildflower Bunch enjoy meetings, then stay for lunch. Educational groups, game and card players, travel lovers, literary groups, as well as the POA, call the Clubhouse home. Large parties, fine dining and buffets are all available. Or maybe patrons can just sit on the verandah with a glass of wine and enjoy the view.
