Florida man attacked by bear outside his home. When Anthony Meunier, 41, let his dog outside Tuesday night, the frightened animal ran back inside. Meunier stepped outside and was confronted by three bears. “I came outside,” Meunier stated, “and the bear was right there. I tried to run and wasn’t fast enough.” He felt like he had been punched in the head, but didn’t think he’d been injured until he returned inside and realized he was covered in blood from a gash on the right side of his face. He received 41 stitches in the emergency room. Bears had been spotted in the neighborhood before, but this was the first bear attack on record in Florida. Florida Fish and Wildlife officials have set traps in the area baited with doughnuts.
