Update: The Holiday Celebration has been canceled due to impeding inclement weather on Saturday, December 9.
Big Canoe Public Safety and Programs & Events Committee invite the Big Canoe community to the second annual Holiday Celebration featuring the fire department’s Santa Parade on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Playfield Park.

The merrymaking begins at 5:30 p.m. on the lower field. When the clock strikes 6:00 p.m., several decorated fire trucks will act as Santa’s trusted reindeers and parade across the dam and guide Santa onto the Playfield. Santa will then light the large, adorned Christmas tree to commence the holiday season. The jolly man will also be available to hear children’s secret hopes and wishes for the merry season. Parents and grandparents, bring your camera to capture the sweet smiles shared between Santa and youngsters.
It wouldn’t be much of a holiday celebration without jubilant music, crafts and games. The Canoe Cubs will be offering children a chance to write Santa a letter and send them directly to the North Pole. Coffee, hot chocolate and plenty of winter drinks will be offered to spark holiday cheer. The Bear Society will also have its popular lawn games; perfect for families of all ages! Blossman Propane and Appliances will be sponsoring the ever-popular S’mores tent; the perfect fireside snack on a chilly winter evening. We’d also like to thank Blossman for providing plenty of heaters for our outdoor event!
The annual Holiday Celebration is also a chance to give back to the local community. Big Canoe Public Safety will have designated boxes accepting Toys for Tots donations. As you shop for your family, neighbors and friends, remember to pick up a small toy to help reach a goal of 50 donations at this event only. Toys for Tots collections will continue through December 20 and can be dropped off at the firehouse and at both the North and Main gates.
Parking is available at the lower Chapel parking lot. The second annual Holiday Celebration is free and open to all Big Canoe property owners, friends and family. We hope to see our entire community bundle up and enjoying the festivities with a merry and cheerful spirit!
