Knowledge Series needs advisory board members

Big Canoe’s Knowledge Series has several advisory board positions to be filled. The Knowledge Series Advisory Council plans and carries out monthly programs that feature a guest speaker.

The program supports life-long learning and offers compelling monthly presentations by dynamic speakers and discussion groups on literary, artistic, international, national and regional topics of interest and significance as well as occasional destination dinners featuring various countries and their cuisines.

In the summer, the Knowledge Series sponsors the Big Canoe Experts series presenting residents with special knowledge, expertise, or hobbies.

“We also host a well-established discussion series on global issues, ‘Great Decisions,’ and initiate a Ted Talks series in winter 2018,” said Calvert Johnson, chair of the Knowledge Series.

The advisory council meets for an hour to an hour and a half once per month. If you are interested in serving, please notify Johnson, at This email address is being protected from spambots. Briefly describe your interest in the series and any special expertise and access to contacts/speakers you might bring to the advisory council, and include a copy of your CV, resume, or bio.
