Leadership Big Canoe Volunteer Fair brings organizations, community together

By Jim Braley

The Leadership Big Canoe (LBC) Volunteer Fair was held on Friday, April 7 at the Clubhouse at Lake Sconti. A total of 29 organizations—from inside the gates as well as from Pickens and Dawson counties—participated.

LBC class attendees as well as others from the community were in attendance. The fair is designed to give attendees an opportunity to learn about volunteer opportunities as well as learn more about what the organizations do.

Many of the organizations represented indicated that they had numerous people sign up for volunteer opportunities and that they felt that the fair was definitely a worthwhile event for them as well as the attendees.
