Magical evening coming soon to the Big Canoe Clubhouse
A magical evening of good food, good music, good friends, great entertainment and the auction event of the year is right around the corner as the Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Guild hosts its 29th annual Gala event to support local charitable organizations.
This ticket may be the best entertainment value of the year when you consider the wine, food, auction, music, and entertainment by well-known comedian/magician Joe Turner.
Dinner music by Bill Pound will accompany Hors d’ Oeuvres of veal and pork stuffed mushroom caps and brie stuffed strawberries with a raspberry coulis followed by a table of imported cheeses, vegetable crudite, seasonal fresh fruits, nuts and French bread with dipping sauces. Black Angus New York strip with horseradish cream and au jus will be served at the manned carving stations, and a buffet station will include jumbo shrimp, coconut shrimp and skewered grilled chicken kabobs with sauces and roasted seasonal vegetables.
More than 150 items will be available for bidding in the silent auction throughout the event.
Around 7:00 Joe Turner, who has performed across the nation and around the world from the Hollywood Magic Castle to the London Palladium, will entertain on the veranda with magic and comedy followed by a live auction of an outstanding collection of items ranging from fine art to vacations to exquisite dinners to sporting events.
Then desserts sure to please will be served to cap the night of fun that will serve the more serious business of the community’s charities that focus on enabling the well being of women and children by providing life skills to overcome the cycle of poverty, oppression or substance abuse.
Tickets for the 2017 event are $75 per person and include a buffet dinner with wine, entertainment and live music at the Big Canoe Clubhouse and can be purchased at www.bigcanoelegacy.org, at the April 13 Women’s Guild meeting, or by contacting Sandra Gadd, 706 579 2443.
