Adaline Rose Harding Cullen, 82, died Dec. 22, 2017. She enjoyed good health throughout her long and adventurous life.
Born in Auburn, Ind., she was the only child of Samuel Voorhees Harding and Adaline Rose Gautier. She attended the University of Michigan where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
Cullen enjoyed her many dogs, playing the piano, boats and the water, living for a time on a houseboat that seemed to fit her free spirit. She also loved traveling, playing bridge and socializing. She was an excellent cook but denied it. Besides Saginaw, Mich. and Indiana, she lived in Wheaton, Ill., around St. Louis, Mo., Gatlinburg, Tenn., and Marco Island, Fla., before settling in Big Canoe and then Jasper, Ga.
Besides the role of housewife, she worked much of her life as an executive secretary, a teacher and her favorite career as a real estate professional.
She is survived by her three children and their families Gilbert "Bert" Charles Thurston, Decatur, Ga.; Kenneth Andrew Thurston, Jasper, Ga., and Margaret Adaline McGrath Swafford, Amarillo, Tex.
A Memorial Service for Adaline Rose Harding Cullen will be held at Roper Funeral Home, 206 Holly St, Jasper, Ga., Sunday, Jan. 14 at 2:30 p.m.
