The 2019 Georgia Press Association conference and awards dinner at the Jekyll Island Inn on May 31 was a very good night for Smoke Signals staff and contributors. Earning 40 achievement awards including General Excellence—for the fifth year in a row—and Ad Idea of the Year—the top advertising award for non-daily publications—Smoke Signals enjoyed its most winning year ever.

Most categories are judged by division but a few are judged across all divisions. Bob Glover, Smoke Signals editorial cartoonist, won twice—taking first and third place for editorial cartoons—across all non-daily publications.

The ‘Ad Idea of the Year’ winner is selected from all first-place ads from all the categories and division submitted by non-daily publications.
