VA Benefits Expert to Speak to the North Georgia Veterans

The May 8 meeting of the North Georgia Veterans will feature Karen B. McIntyre, R.N., VA accredited agent and president/co-founder of Veterans Information Services, Inc.
For more than 15 years, she has traveled the country educating professionals and families about the complicated VA process. Her expertise regarding the VA pension process has been recognized by many states’ American Legion offices, Veteran Service offices, state bars, and professional organizations throughout the country.
McIntyre will be providing information on benefits that may be available to veterans in areas of:
- Service-connected disability compensation
- Dependency indemnity compensation for surviving spouses
- Non-service-connected pension benefits, which is a financial needs-based benefit
- Burial benefits
- DoD benefits for retired combat veterans
McIntyre is co-creator of VisPro®, a computer software program designed to assist attorneys and agents in filing VA and DoD claims. She is also founder of Veterans Nursing Consultants and co-founder of Veterans Advocate Group of America (VAGA).
She currently provides services to a list averaging 435 professional members, answering their VA related questions daily. She also conducts in-depth webinars and CLE programs for professionals throughout the country. In addition, she publishes “Veteran Family Matters – VAGA News,” a monthly electronic newsletter.
The North Georgia Veterans welcome all active duty and honorably discharged members of all branches of U.S. military service. Visitors seeking information for veteran family members are also welcome for this presentation. Lunch meetings are held on the second Wednesday each month in the Mountains Grill of the Big Canoe Clubhouse at Lake Sconti. There is no cost to join. Meetings start at 11:30 a.m. and include a $17 buffet lunch and program.
