Despite the rumors on social media to the contrary, Forno Italian Restaurant in the Foothills Village has not closed its doors and is open for business. The restaurant was closed for a family event Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18 and opened Monday for business as usual according to the owners.

There has been no rent rate increase and Fuego too is open and thriving according to owner Susan Macias who said business is better than it was when the restaurant was located at Northgate Station.

“My Big Canoe customers continue to come and I have picked up business from Highway 53, and my overhead is half what it was before,” she said. “Why would I want to move?”

Facebook and other social media posted rumors that Forno had closed because of rent increases. And other messages hinted that Fuego was closing. None of these rumors have panned out and the owners of both say they intend to stay.
