NGV collects over $1100 for Shepherd Center SHARE program
North Georgia Veterans collected $1,120 at the July 9 Terraces Concert, an annual fundraising effort for the SHARE Military Initiative at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta.
SHARE is a comprehensive rehabilitation program that focuses on assessment and treatment for military service men and women who have sustained a mild to moderate traumatic brain injury, along with co-occurring PTSD or other mental health concerns (such as depression or anxiety), while serving in the post-9/11 era.
SHARE Military Initiative provides assistance, support and education to service members and their families during their recovery treatment and beyond.
This has become an annual practice and NGV takes pride in being able to help sustain the Share program. One hundred cents of every dollar collected goes to this program. No administrative expenses are deducted.
The SHARE program was started from seed money from Bernie Marcus, co-founder of Home Depot and requires $110,000 per month to fund the programs.
Donations to SHARE can be sent to the Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Rd. N.W., Atlanta, GA 30309.
