The Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta, Elm Street Cultural Arts Village bring the musical ‘Fancy Nancy’ to Woodstock

Based on the popular “Fancy Nancy” books by Jane O’Connor and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser, Fancy Nancy the musicalpulls from Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet. Fancy Nancy and her friends are going to be performing in their very first show. Nancy is positive, (that’s fancy for 100 percent sure), that she will be picked to be a mermaid. When another girl wins the coveted role of the mermaid, Nancy is stuck playing a dreary, dull tree. Can Nancy bring fancy flair to her role, even though it isn’t the one she wanted? We find out as “Fancy Nancy” the musical takes us on a journey of silly, thrilling, imaginative fun. Nancy shows anyone with a little fun and a whole lot of fancy you can turn the dullest of situations into the happiest yet!

“I love the underlying themes of this story,” says Director Tom Milley, “Make the most of what you’ve got. You don’t need a lot. Share kindness and cookies, and dance when you feel like it. Before you know it, you will be making your world a happier, more wonderful and fancier place. The story of ‘Fancy Nancy’ comes to life straight from the amazing collection of books, and we have had so much fun bringing it to life for you to enjoy”.

Fancy Nancyis the fanciest way we can think of ending our 2017-2018 Season of Courage, with what may be the last production of this musical in the area. Disney recently acquired the rights to produce a Fancy Nancy series and are debuting the Disney Jr. show July 13th, which we are delighted aligns with our live-action version opening the Wednesday before. Elm Street was among the last arts organizations to interact and acquire the rights to perform Fancy Nancy the Musicaland may be one of the last companies to perform the musical indefinitely.

In addition to regular performance times, Elm Street will be offering a variety of Community Engagement activities surrounding this production. There will be Fashion shows, Ice Cream Socials, Pre-show lobby activities, Cast Meet & Greets and more! To find out more information or purchase tickets, visit Elm Street’s website at www.elmstreetarts.org

Performances July 11-25 – Wednesdays at 10a.m. and Saturdays/Sundays at 2p.m. For more information about location and tickets, go to www.elmstreetarts.orgor phone: 678-494-4251
