We did it: the journey of a lifetime
The Susan G. Komen Three-Day walk, held Oct. 13-15 in Atlanta, was one of the most humbling and gratifying experiences for the three of us.
It took five months of devoted training to be able to walk the intense 24 miles the first day, 20 miles the second day and 16 miles the final day. We are unbelievably proud to have been a part of this extraordinary effort to stomp out this hateful disease called breast cancer. So many women and men have suffered from this malignant disease.
We met the most incredible people who either had breast cancer—one lady was a four-time survivor—and endured it, who are now undergoing treatment for it, or who have lost a loved one to it. We developed a friendship and bond to them that will last a life time, as well as our own, amongst the three of us.
Thank you to our financial contributors. Because of you we raised over $14,000.00. To all who supported us we thank you!! We could not have fulfilled our wish to accomplish this amazing passage without you.
