Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle to address Squire & Stags
By Bennett Whipple
The Hon. Casey Cagle, lieutenant governor of Georgia and candidate for governor in 2018, will speak at Squires & Stags Friday, Nov. 3. Chuck Gordon, made arrangements to have Cagle speak and will serve as program host for the meeting.
Cagle will bring a message which springs from his deep knowledge of the workings of the Georgia Legislature and its actions during the recent term earlier this year.
He is a leading candidate in the race for the governor’s office with the election and will also speak on his vision for the state.
Cagle is the recent author of a book, “Education Unleashed”, which outlines his vision for a public education system that will develop a strong workforce for Georgia’s future.
Cagle lives in Gainesville and served in Georgia’s Senate before winning election in 2006 as the state’s first Republican lieutenant governor. He is serving his third term in that office.
Before entering politics, Cagle was an entrepreneur businessman. He later transitioned to real estate and banking, founding the Southern Heritage Bank which ultimately merged into SunTrust Bank.
