The Arts Council presents Back in Time

The Arts Council is thrilled to announce Back in Time will play Saturday, Aug. 5 as part of the 2017 Summer MusicFest series. The concert will be on the lawn of the Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center at 8 p.m.

Come on out, listen and dance to that old time rock ’n’ roll as Back in Time returns for one of Gainesville's favorite outdoor summer concerts. Featuring a nine-piece band with a four-piece horn section, Back in Time members range in age from 30 to 60 with a passion for playing classic rock ’n’ roll, soul and East Coast beach music.

Back in Time brings back musical memories from the 60s, 70s and 80s with hits like, “My Girl” by The Temptations, “It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones, “Desperado” by the Eagles, and of course the band's namesake "Back in Time," by Huey Lewis and the News. Get ready to shag the night away with your favorite partner when Back in Time performs some of the most memorable beach music classics.

Sweet Butts BBQ will be onsite with a food truck selling BBQ, burgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches and a variety of sides. Feel free to bring lawn chairs, picnics and beverages of choice.

Closing out Summer MusicFest 2017 will be Riverstreet, Aug. 19 at the Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center. For all tickets call 770-534-2787 or visit www.TheArtsCouncil.net. Gates will open at 6 p.m. for Back in Time. Tickets are: adults $20; senior (65+)/student $18. For tickets call 770-534-2787 or visit www.TheArtsCouncil.net.
