BCAR offers New Year’s salute

By Tom Attaway

BCAR found forever homes for 48 dogs and puppies, and 44 cats and kittens during calendar year 2016! We are very proud of this accomplishment. These 92 “former” BCAR dogs and cats would like to thank the following:

The people who found us and brought us to BCAR

When you found us we were lost, scared, cold, homeless, hungry, sick, and, sometimes, all of the above. We are so grateful you cared enough to take the time and effort to rescue us and take us to BCAR. We will always remember you and your kindness.

The people who cared for us while we were at BCAR

This army of volunteers made us feel loved and welcomed, comforted us, gave us a safe and warm place to live, fed us, played with us, trained us, and cured us of fleas, ticks, heartworms, skin conditions, broken bones, etc. You were there for us every day of the year. You found families and homes for us. We love each of you and will never forget you, ever.

The people who adopted us

We are not perfect, but you took a chance on us rescue dogs and cats, and brought us into your homes. You bought us beds, toys, and treats. You made us feel special, and wanted, and loved. We promise to show you our love, devotion, and appreciation every day. It is all we have to give, and it is now yours.

The people who paid for all of the above

We know our room and board, medical care, etc. all cost money. Your donations made this possible. We don’t know you, but we are grateful for your generosity. You amaze us. Without people like you in this world, none of this would have happened. We don’t know where we would be right now if not for your financial help.

BCAR has much to be thankful for this year. We are honored to serve the Big Canoe community and the cats and dogs in our care.

As the two BCAR “Fat Cat” chew toys show in the attached photo: “In with the New, Out with the Old!” Happy New Year!

BCAR has an open house every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come and visit! Check us out on bigcanoeanimalrescue.org or on Facebook. For more information, contact BCAR at 706-268-1346. Volunteer!
