Pickens leaders graduate from Economic Development academy

The Board of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development announced Pickens County graduates from the 2017 Region 1 Multi-Day Training Program on May 2.

Class participants represented a number of professional and non-professional economic development fields, including elected officials, public servants, business leaders, educators, and social service providers from 15 counties in Northwest Georgia.

Pickens County graduates at the May 2 ceremony included:

  • Jennifer Jordan, clerk of Superior Court, Pickens County
  • Sonny Proctor, M.D., city councilman, Jasper
  • Donna Torres, mortgage banker, Renasant Bank
  • Allen Wigington, chief judge, Pickens County Magistrate Court

Created in 1993, the Academy assembles a cross section of economic development professionals and resources to provide this training in all twelve service delivery regions in Georgia.
