Chamber of Commerce hires Marketing and Events Director
The Dawson County Chamber of Commerce has expanded its staff by hiring a Marketing and Events Director, Davida Simpson. The new position will allow the Chamber to even better serve its members, tourism partners and the community.
Davida most recently served as purchasing director for Dawson County Government. She has also served a variety of other roles for Dawson County including positions in the court systems and County Clerk. She is a 2001 graduate of North Georgia College with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
At the Chamber, Davida will serve as the point person for coordinating major Chamber events including the annual gala, golf tournament, Business After Hours and business luncheons. She will also work extensively in the Office of Tourism Development (OTD) by managing the OTD’s social media, newsletter and other marketing aspects to promote Dawson County as a destination hotspot.

Davida also said she is excited about the new opportunity. “I am looking forward to better getting to know our members and executing quality events that will maximize the community’s investment in the Chamber.”
The Dawson County Chamber of Commerce represents more than 400 members in the North Georgia region.
