Team Big Canoe gets ready to walk for cancer research

By Laura Link

In 2006 Carolyn Littell was on a fitness center treadmill with a knee-high boot on one leg getting ready for a 60-mile walk in the Susan G. Komen three day walk for cancer research.

2017 finds her again recruiting for her second walk and forming another Team Big Canoe. The walk will be Oct. 13-15 covering 60 miles in this annual three day walk in the Atlanta area. So far Karen Steinberg and Barbara Knysz met with Littell to make plans to begin their training in May for the October walk.

Each participate raises $2,300 or contributions can be made to the team as a whole to sponsor Team Big Canoe. Littell encourages Big Canoers (men and women) to join the Big Canoe team and walk for the cause. If training and walking 60 miles isn’t your thing, your encouragement and donations are appreciated.
