3 B’z help Bear Society ‘Make Wednesdays Great Again’

By Bob Mackey

The Black Bear Society continues to promote fun and fellowship as we work our way through the winter doldrums (made worse by the Falcons Super Bowl loss). To assist in that endeavor, we’ve added an extra Wednesday night Happy Hour and promised live entertainment on the Veranda.

We’ve consulted with local musicians and entertainment executives for guidance. A trio of local musicians have offered to help us. The group, all of whom are current or past members of successful regional bands and orchestras, have agreed to combine their talents, collaborate and perform for us the evening of Feb. 15.

Since first announcing the added Happy Hour and entertainment, rumor, gossip and social media sites have been speculating as to who the 3 B’z are. We’re happy to end the suspense and reveal their identities.

They are: Bill Pound (www.billpound.com), one of North Georgia’s best, most versatile and favorite artists and musicians; Bob Knysz, great bluegrass, great mandolin, currently with the 8th of January & Atlanta Mandolin Orchestra; and Brad Morgan, lead vocalist and guitarist of Atlanta classic rock band Suburban Road.

We are very fortunate to have all 3 B’z play for us at our clubhouse. No need to travel outside the gates. Our kitchen staff has created a special 3 B’z menu. The bar will be serving beers from Cherry Street Brewing of Cumming, the Bear Society’s brewery of the month.

Make plans to join us. Happy Hour starts at 5:30 p.m., and music on the Veranda will begin at 6 p.m.

It’s not often we get to enjoy the talents of three, local, accomplished musicians performing together. Great entertainment, good food, good beer, wine and drinks and the chance to party with friends and neighbors—it can’t get much better.

We’re all about fun! See you there.
