As August arrives and parents and children begin the new school year, the Swim Club Pool will change hours to reflect that class is back in session.
The Swim Club lifeguards consist of local high school students and, therefore, the Big Canoe POA must adapt to the earlier school year. The Swim Club Pool will remain open daily through Sunday, August 8, and will then be open on weekends only through Labor Day, September 6.
Opening at 10:00 a.m., the Swim Club offers canoes and paddleboats on Lake Disharoon with a sandy beach, volleyball, picnic tables and plenty of area for sunbathing. And that’s not all, adults and children squeal coming down the famous rock slide. After all of the excitement, fill up on snacks and beverages at the Swim Club Snack Bar. Enjoy the activities all day, as the Swim Club does not close until 8:00 p.m.
Across Big Canoe, the Wildcat Pool is staffed by mostly Big Canoe adults and therefore, remains open on a daily basis through September 6. If your family needs a little less activity, the Wildcat Pool may be just perfect for you. Boasting a kiddie pool with a water playground, the Wildcat Pool provides families with small children an area to enjoy. The Wildcat Pool hours are 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily.
So head out to the outdoor pools this summer and soak up the sun! Daily passes are $6 per person (children under the age of two receive free admission) at both the Swim Club and Wildcat pools.
