At the time of this writing, the ballots for the newly elected HOA board members have not been tallied. Suffice it to say that the community will be well served by whichever of the six candidates are elected.
All of us owe a great big “thank you” to each of the six candidates for their willingness to help enrich lives at Big Canoe.
The six candidates were: Alex Henderson, Bill Holyoak, Chris DeJarnett, Mike Ehrlich, Mike Monroe and Verna Rauschenberg.
Each of them brought wonderful energy, loads of talent and a giving spirit that would have served us well. We hope to be able to engage all of them in some capacity—formal or informal—as we move forward.
Four of the above listed candidates will be replacing Carl Deane, Kay Born, Sue Hauseman and Eric Lindblom. Each of these neighbors has served us faithfully over the past years and each has left identifiable improvements in the way your HOA board functions. We owe them our thanks and gratitude for jobs well done.
The newly constituted board will take seriously the mission of the HOA which reads: “For Big Canoe owners, the HOA is the representative organization committed to enriching lives in our community through communications, programs and advocacy.”
Specifically, we intend to conduct open, clear and timely dialogue; sponsor healthy lifestyle, youth and social programs; and look for ways to leverage the strengths of our community on our key imperatives. We all are in this together. Nobody has a corner on the market of good ideas. We promise to listen.
HOA board meetings are open meetings and your attendance is encouraged. Our first planning and organizational meeting is scheduled to be held on July 20 at 9 a.m. in the new Smoke Signals office at the Foothills Shopping Center.
Please give this Board the benefit of your thoughts and input so that collectively we can enrich life at Big Canoe. |
