$4,000 flat fee scrapped in favor of percentage Print E-mail

The LTFC decided to change from a flat $4,000 fee to a percentage fee after feedback from property owners, and attorneys.

The Committee initially hoped to exclude current Big Canoe property owners who move within the community, but lawyers recently told committee members that such an exclusion isn't legal.

The LTFC will continue to modify its recommendation concerning the Capital Initiation Fee, Palmer said, including whether the fee will be subject to a minimum or maximum amount.

In other news, the Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendations of the Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC) concerning the Tennis Center. Under the proposed plan, two existing hard courts will be converted to clay courts. In addition, two new courts will be built and lighting will be added to extend evening use of the courts. Six covered courts may be added in several years, if the need arises.
