Come join the fun and learn bocce ball basics at boot camp!

The camps are rain or shine—just show up at the courts in the Wildcat Recreation Area at the dates and times listed below.

If you you’d like to try playing bocce ball but don’t know where or how to start, the February bocce boot camps are for you. The Bocce Ball League has free boot camp sessions planned from February through mid-March to teach potential players how to play. The camps are rain or shine–just show up at the bocce courts in the Wildcat Recreation Area in good weather and give it a toss!

Times are Mondays at 11 a.m.; Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.; Thursdays and Fridays at 11 a.m.; and Saturdays at 4 p.m.

Here’s what will be covered weekly in the boot camps:

  • Week 1-Mon. Feb. 8–Sat. Feb. 13: General concepts and rules; center court play.
  • Week 2-Mon. Feb. 15–Sat. Feb. 20: Banking.
  • Week 3 –Mon. Feb. 22–Sat. Feb. 27: Lofting and rolling; court idiosyncrasies and strategies.
  • Week 4-Mon. March 1–Sat. March 6
  • Week 5 Mon. March 8–Sat. March 13: Whatever necessary.

A fun tournament is planned for Sat. March 6.
