On Saturday Oct. 17, Big Canoe Bocce Ball League members dressed like Eskimos and braved the elements of cold, wind and occasional drizzle for their fall playoff tournament.

Spirits remained high despite the numbing cold as the hardy folks watched team "Ballistics"—Ray and Sandi Smalley/Sandy and Dick Scharf—become the 2009 fall champions and win the trophy. In second place came the "Focker Uppers" comprised of Jim and Diane Hollister/Artie and Lee Bailey.

Conference champs included White conference: the “Que Bolas” team of Bob and Carmen Crouch/Ron and Nan Wilk; Blue Conference: the "Kiss our Polino" team made up of Bill Rawson and Rhonda Stock/Ouida and Bob Ames; Green Conference: the "Ballistics" team of Ray and Sandi Smalley/Dick and Sandy Scharf as the winning conference champs; and Red Conference: the “Sopranos” team of Patti and Marty Waschak/Darryl and Marty Anderson.

The fall Super Sunday Awards Dinner was held, for the first time, at The Mountains Grille at Lake Sconti, on Sunday, Oct. 18. A great—and much warmer—time was had by all.
