Smoke Signals™ Online invites Letters to the Editor and will publish those letters which contribute to opinions across the Big Canoe community.

Letters to the Editor should address issues and ideas not personalities, must be signed and include the writer's address, phone number and/or email address.

Letters that contain personal attacks, obscenity or are defamatory in nature will be returned to the sender. Letters may be edited for grammar and spelling but will be returned to the sender if changes are needed to improve clarity or taste.

Letters should run no more than 600 words and should be emailed to Smoke Signals™ Online at editor@bigcanoenews.com either in the body of an email or attached in a Word document. Any letters to the editor received at Smoke Signals™ Online will be forwarded automatically to the managing editor of the Smoke Signals™ newspaper.

There is no deadline for publishing Letters to the Editor on Smoke Signals™ Online; however, the deadline for Smoke Signals™ is the first Friday of the month. Letters may be placed in the Smoke Signals™ box in the Big Canoe Post Office.
