Chapel to host barbecue on Stewardship Sunday

November 23 event will feature music by the Big Canoe Boys

November is stewardship month at Big Canoe Chapel. The first three Sundays (Nov. 2, 9 and 16) a Chapel member will speak briefly about how our giving is used “Here, There and Everywhere.”

Following the second service on Nov. 23, a barbecue lunch and celebration will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Broyles Center. There will be music by the Big Canoe Boys. It should be a joyous time of celebrating the privilege of carrying out the Lord’s work through our tithes offerings and gifts.
A volunteer team of all-night pig roasters will prepare pulled pork and chicken. Side dishes, rolls and drinks will be provided; however, please pick up complimentary tickets at Stand Around in November to help facilitate an estimate of food that will be needed. Homemade desserts are requested from some of our great cooks. About 20 volunteers are needed to bring at least two dozen brownies, bars, cookies and any other dessert “finger food” and at least 10 volunteers are needed to help serve from two buffet lines. Note: There will be no Adult Sunday school or Stand Around on Nov. 23. Those attending the first service are asked to come to the festivities at 12:30 p.m. Those attending the second service may go directly to the festivities in Broyles Center immediately following the second service.
