Carolyn Omundson is the new librarian of the Elizabeth Bloodworth Memorial Library located in Big Canoe Chapel's Broyles Community Center. She follows Mrs. Patty Libby, who recently retired after 16 years.
Carolyn went to college on a journalism scholarship and she has always
been an avid reader. She graduated with a degree in education and
taught school until her children were born. She worked for H&R
Block in Charlotte, N.C., for 18 years doing tax returns preparation
before moving to Big Canoe.
Carolyn has participated in one of the Ridgerunners Book Clubs, the
Wildflower Bunch, the Chapel Women's Guild and, up until a couple of
years ago, she was an 18-hole golfer and served on the WGA Board as
secretary. She was co-chair of the Chapel Stand-Around with Charlotte
Robbe for five years and she was the Guild's Publicity Chairman during
Jane Brook's leadership term on the Guild board. She has worked as
co-chair for the Book Nook for a couple of years and has continued
serving as a Book Nook volunteer.
Carolyn has participated in the Guild Tour of Homes and has worked
with Patty Libby as an assistant in the library since 2004. She also
co-chaired the Samaritan's Purse "Operation Christmas Child" with her
husband Fred and Ange and Charlotte Robbe for the past four years. She
has worked as a volunteer for the Big Canoe Animal Rescue.
Big Canoe Chapel welcomes Carolyn Omundson as our new librarian.
