Fall is a great time to go for a walk on the Choctaw Trail. It's one of the trails in Big Canoe with the prettiest views year-round, but especially so in the fall as the landscapes open up and the leaves add color.
This trail surrounds Choctaw Village and overlooks the golf course and
Blackwell Creek. It's a 1.3 mile crushed gravel loop, mostly flat with
one good, aerobic hill. It is comfortably wide, allowing you to walk or
jog with a friend or your dog. There are benches where you can relax,
admire the view, read a book or draw some sketches for your next
masterpiece.
To get there: go to Choctaw Village, drive the length of the village
boulevard to the end and take a right on Sinti Trail. Follow Sinti to
the cul-de-sac where you can park and access the walking trail.
