The ladies of the participants in the Big Canoe's Men's Golf Associations Member-Guest tournament were treated to a most successful and enjoyable event September 5.
The Ladies Luncheon and Fashion Show in The Clubhouse at Lake Sconti gave the ladies a chance to get to know one another, do "girlie things" and enjoy a wonderful lunch served by the clubhouse staff while their guys enjoyed golf to their hearts' content.
Park Place Interiors and its owner Pam Graham sponsored the ladies luncheon and fashion show. Park Place Interiors was recently featured in the Southern Living Plan of the Month Home at The Bluffs at Ridgeview in Big Canoe. Park Place Interiors is a well-known design center located at 4465 State Bridge Way in Alpharetta (770-664-7244).

The models and ladies of the Member Guest participants were treated to
lunch and a day of comradeship. Park Place Interiors was also generous
in providing a drawing for lovely gifts and interior design services
from their store.
The fashions modeled were from Reese's Fashion Gallery, owner Sandy
Reese. Reese's is located in Gordon Hills Shopping Center in Calhoun
(706-629-9241).
Golf outfits from our own Big Canoe Golf Pro Shop were also modeled.
I was asked by Duncan Knapp, MGA President, and my husband Carl, to
organize the event for the ladies. I wanted and asked for models from
many of the clubs and organizations throughout our Big Canoe community
to model. I was successful in recruiting 26 ladies and one guy to "walk
the runway" of The Clubhouse at Lake Sconti. The busy Mike Kupchik was
asked and agreed to photograph the luncheon-fashion show.
Bonnie Moore had to drop out from modeling as she broke her arm playing
tennis. Our one guy, Mike Monroe, who is a sponsor of the tournament
and unable to participate and play this year due to a "bum leg" also
had to drop out. His playful participation was missed as was Bonnie's.
Each model wore two outfits which were appropriate for country club
casual. Many of the models said that this was the first time they had
ever been asked to model. But each one looked like a professional and
enjoyed their stint as "models for a day."

This is the second year that the MGA's Member-Guest Tournament has entertained their ladies with a luncheon-fashion show.
I, as a wife of a man that has played in this tournament for many
years, truly appreciate the MGA's generous and thoughtful efforts.
And, from the many positive comments that I have received from the
women that were in attendance, I'm sure that the guys have earned many
"golf credits" from their ladies.
Our thanks to the guys!
