Think Pink, and come out for lots of fun!

Big Canoe Women's Golf Association will be taking part in Rally for the Cure, a breast cancer awareness campaign that is the nation's largest grassroots women's golf program.

More than 1.2 million people have participated in Rally for the Cure events since its inception in 1996.  This year marks the first time Big Canoe has pledged its support and teed off against breast cancer.

As part of the Rally, a closest-to-the-pin contest is held on a designated par 3 Rally hole. Titleist golf balls bearing the pink ribbon breast cancer awareness symbol are awarded to every player who hits on the green on the first swing and a prize is given to the player whose shot lands nearest the hole.

All players will receive important early detection information, and an exclusive Rally pink ribbon golf pin.

So, mark your calendars for Wednesday, Oct. 15, and plan to come and support our first annual Rally for the Cure.

Application forms will be sent out in September. Your entry will include a $20 donation to Rally for the Cure. There is a 72-player limit, and we will be playing an 18-hole step aside scramble with a shotgun start at 8:30.

A buffet lunch for $10 will follow, where we will hold a raffle for many great items.  Each player is responsible for her lunch and golf fees the day of play.

We hope to have a big turnout for this very worthy charity, So, Think Pink, and come out for lots of fun!
