Vincent McPherson

Meet Vincent McPherson
“A New Choice for Pickens County”

Vincent McPherson is running as an Independent Candidate for Pickens County Commissioner.  He was raised in Ball Ground and currently resides in Tate with his wife of 20 years, Dina and children, Kristen and Chloe.  The McPherson’s are very family oriented.  They love spending time with their children and participating in school and sports activities.  Vincent and his family are active members at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Canton, Georgia.

Vincent believes improvement could and should be made in the
following areas of
Pickens County Goverment

  • Water, Roads & Sewer:  Vincent’s 20+ years experience in this field and leadership skills gives him the knowledge and insight to recognize the need for planning today for tomorrow’s growth.
  • Parks and Recreation:  As a volunteer coach with youth sports in Pickens County, Vincent knows first hand the need to upgrade and develop additional facilities for recreation within the county. Parks and Recreation can benefit every citizen of the county, from the young to our senior citizens. It is a true investment in the vitality of our community.
  • Animal Control:  The McPherson family loves their pets and takes very good care of them.  Unfortunately, some animals are not so lucky.  Vincent will seek to partner with the organizations and citizens of the county who share his concern for our pet population.  He will also work closely with the Sheriff’s Office to provide effective, safe and humane animal control.
  • Tax Relief for Senior Citizens:  Help ease a financial burden on our Senior Citizen’s retirement by phasing out school tax on residents over 65.
  • Better Benefits for County Employees:  As a taxpayer, Vincent recognizes Vote McPherson the value of competitive and fair benefits to attract new talent and retain the valuable people who already keep Pickens County working. The retention of dedicated employees is a true asset for our county and is key factor to moving forward. Let's stop the revolving door and show our employees they are appreciated.

 Vincent also believes:

  • Pickens County needs clean economic growth to build our tax base that will preserve the natural beauty & charm of our county.
  • All available federal and state government grants should be aggressively pursued and applied for.
  • The Multi-Person Commission process should be initiated and studied as the non-binding referendum from the July 15 Primary showed Pickens County Voters are in favor of the Multi-Person Commission form of government.
